Riding the Wave in 2025 – What’s New and What’s Cool

We took a break from the blog, but not from the water. And just like the changing tides, watersports are changing too, so here is what’s up in 2025.

Tech Revolution Meets the Water.

E-Foils have gained popularity and Fliteboard has stolen the show. Fliteboard has revolutionized silence with their new super quiet electric motor. They have also taken their battery to the next level with 21700 cells in their batteries housed in a titanium case for increased safety and longevity.

Cabrinha’s 2025 APEX kites are lighter, stronger, and more responsive thanks to the new Ultra HT material. Ultra HT reduces the weight of the leading edge and struts and increases durability and performance unlike anything you have felt before.

Speaking of materials, huge changes coming with Brainchild, they are implementing new eco-conscious, high-performance material on Harlem, F1 and Reedin kites. Tech features up to 48% recycled, undyed fabrics, a PROWELD construction that boosts strength and reduces weight, and an EcoInk digital printing method that cuts water waste and material scraps.

Sustainability is the standard in 2025.

Eco-forward efforts have shifted the industry, brands that once focused on performance alone are now doubling down on the sustainability of their product. And as we plan on opening our new store in Coconut Grove, we are implementing sustainable efforts too. We are also powering the community fridge in coconut grove, helping those in need in the area!

Many brands are using recycled plastics, organic materials, and eco-friendly fabrics in their products. For example, Duotone's Concept Blue line uses recycled plastic and undyed cotton material. Brands like Airush, are implementing renewable energy sources like solar panels in their facilities, and Cabrinha's factory is a BLUESIGN factory, a standard with stringent measures in place for sustainability in their process.

Community > Competition

The vibe in 2025 is all about the crew. More than ever, people are linking up to ride together and teach each other. Local meetups are the new rave and there’s room for everyone out on the water, so keep an eye out for announcements on hangouts and demos because there is plenty of community to go around.
