Our all-new 2024 R-Winger range is the next logical progression for the light wind or small-foil Wing foiling. As this new and exciting sport of ours continues to develop at a fast pace, we decided to shift into the new gear. We can well see the early take-off benefits of the very long and narrow Downwind SUP foil boards. While the take-offs are instant, for true Wing foiling the fun is compromised right after the take-off. The boards are too long which makes pumping more difficult and too narrow for comfortable foot switches. That is why we developed the full line of narrower and longer, but dedicated wing boards, R-Wingers.

Everything about this range is focused on generating ground speed for quick take-offs and even quicker touchdown recovery. We made the tuck line fully sharp all around for an instant release. The smooth scoop rocker, the long and narrow outline and the extensive tail cut-outs work in sync to minimize drag and get you into flight with the smallest foil possible. The slightly raised tail rocker makes it possible to push harder on the foil for better upwind angle and faster top speed. The nose deck shape is very aerodynamic for minimal drag even in super strong winds.

The boards are made in the high-end CNC custom line at Cobra with full PVC sandwich, deck and bottom. We took out the carrying handle for cleaner takeoff surface and further weight saving.

These features of the R-Winger define what a modern race wing board, or a light wind board needs to be. Whether it is full on world-tour racing, blasting by your stunned windsurfing and kitesurfing buddies, or just enjoying the cruise in the lightest wind possible the R-Winger has you covered!

No compromise efficiency! A complete redesign of our Downwinder comes in three sleek and lightweight shapes to get up on the foil easily and fly for miles!

One of the first boards the Spencer brothers Finn and Jeffrey worked on after joining Team Duotone was the redesign of the Downwinder shapes. Resulting in sleek, fast and narrow designs, with efficient glide that accelerates with just a few paddle strokes on the smallest bump. For the 2024 collection we’re offering four dedicated shapes from the small 6'4" x 19” and 6'10" x 20” to the mid-sized 7'2" x 21" and the stable and easy 7'8" x 22.5”, in volumes of 85, 95, 115 and 135l.

With a low rocker, stretched outline and clean bottom contours, the boards are incredibly easy to bring up to take-off speed. Once in motion, the slim pin tails with pronounced rail bevels on the larger models are easy to push into the water to pump your board and foil out for take-off. The rounded rails up in the nose area are less prone to catch and to steer the board in unwanted directions, making take-off and touchdowns forgiving and neutral, so you can focus on the bumps instead of your board.

Due to the incredible glide and quick acceleration the Downwinder is also a real weapon for light wind Wing Foiling!

Built in lightweight full carbon construction, these boards have to be handled with care, but since the weight of the board is essential for paddle-up performance, we went for a no-compromise technology for the 2024 Downwinders.

EXTRA SPECIAL FOIL SHAPE

The X-Foil is a specialized wing foiling, SUP foiling and windsurf foiling machine!
Shorter in length, wider and thicker compared to the Foil range, the boards offer generous flotation for instant reaction to pumping and for easy take-off.
The concave deck shape makes it easy to locate the centre of the board and to find a good balance over the foil.
The bevelled rails and tail kick help with reducing the wetted surface for easy take-off and carefree tight turns.
For windsurf foiling or getting used to foiling in all disciplines, strapless is the most comfortable and the way to go. Centered or V-angled foot-strap positions set-up in the ideal stance for wing foiling, SUP foiling and strapped tow foiling.

The first prototypes were battle tested by ~20 endurance athletes at the ‘21 Miami Ultra Skate. There were over 1,250,000 pole strikes in 24 hours springing to ~1,500 miles (Los Angeles to Chicago) and no reported problems. Then again our gear was tested by four spartan warriors at the grueling 200 mile Skate Central Lakes challenge during July '21 in Minnesota.  Several new world distance records have been established and this sport has been further established by pioneering athletes.

The SK8 tip has baffles that allow ground contact for the duration of the stroke.  

This is strongly preferred for "after rain" wet conditions and for "drag braking" to slow down.  This is not best for sandy conditions or "white pine needles" on the road.

We love your style but we also want you to take care of yourself. As the saying goes “Easy does it!” We don’t want you going all out on your first ride. HST trucks are not swivel trucks. Unlike many surfskate trucks, our patented HST trucks use stiff springs and wavecams to provide rotation and control. With these boards, most of the pumping action is driven by your back leg/foot, not your front.

Finally...A Surfer's Skateboard

Dr. Dorian “Doc” Paskowitz is an icon in the surfing world. In 1972, he and his family launched the Paskowitz Surf Camp, the first ever surf school, and it continues to operate today.  The New York Times dubbed the Paskowitz family as the “First Family of Surfing.”

The Paskowitz Surf Camp was Doc Paskowitz’ s surf science class. As a medical doctor and professor, Doc wanted to share with the world the science of surfing. The fundamentals of surfing along with a clear understanding of waves, ocean safety, surf etiquette and the proper techniques were of utmost importance to become an accomplished wave rider, and waterman, a true surfer.

Doc’s good friend from San Diego, Larry Gordon of G&S surfboards, gifted Doc with the very first “sidewalk surfboards” in 1975. During the off season, the Paskowitz children used these first surf skates to hone their surf skills while adventuring across the U.S. These boards were good, but Doc longed for something better to surf on land.

In honor of Dorian, the Paskowitz family and Hamboards launched the Paskowitz model. The deck has a slight concave, is 30” long and 11" wide. This allows for more stability, proper foot placement making it suitable for all ages and heights. The 17” wheelbase almost forces your stance to mimic the same stance on a surfboard. The HST 2.0 truck system sets this board apart from any other. The “Pasko” has a 40° pivot axis in the front, a 20° pivot axis in the rear, and both trucks have 180mm hangers and is more stable than other surf skates, all while still providing excellent pumpability.

 What makes the Paskowitz Surf Trainers so special is that you can kick and gain speed, much like paddling on your surfboard to gain momentum. Once up to speed, your stance can then develop the correct positioning. Now that you are stable and feeling solid (not on your heels or toes) you can practice your rail-to-rail using repetitive maneuvers to increase muscle memory and posture. These boards take carves at speed and still feel solid. Use your Pasko board to pump and maintain speed like racing down the face of a wave and preparing for a deep bottom turn or a full figure-eight cutback into the power of the wave.

A Pumping Cruiser Based on the Cory Lopez Twisted Fin

This board has the same deck as the Twisted Fin, but has a different set of HST Trucks, making it more stable and easier to pump.

 

Pro surfer Cory Lopez designed the original Twisted Fin to be a training device for serious surfers. However that model can be a challenge for some. The OC Hula uses the same deck shape, but instead of HST 40°/200mm trucks, we've use an HST 40°/180mm truck in the front and an HST 0°/160mm truck in the rear. This gives the OC Hula more stability and greater pumpability than the Cory Lopez Twisted Fin.

HST boards are not Hamboards. They are available exclusively on Amazon and select retailers.

These boards break from the Hamboards surf-feel mold, That's why we call them HST boards and not Hamboards. They have more traditional longboard decks and our patented HST trucks. The result feels like a cross between a snowboard and a skateboard. More carvy than a longboard but not as carvy as a Hamboard, with a nice little bounce out of the carves.

There are two different HST decks. The 40-inch dropdeck has a 1-inch drop and a slight concave which makes this deck a little stiffer. Longboard skateboard riders seem to prefer this deck.

The 38-inch cutaway longboard deck is flat, which gives it more flex. Snowboard riders say It feels like a snowboard on wheels.

More surfy than a surfskate

Speed, stability, carving and pumping have never come together like they do on the Burst.

The Burst is built with the HST 2.0 truck system. It has a 40° pivot axis in the front, a 20° pivot axis in the rear, and both trucks have 180mm hangers. It is 32" long and 10" wide with a 19" wheelbase. This setup makes the Burst pump like no other board we have ever made.

The deck is like no other we have ever sold. It has a concave and kicktail with a custom black griptape on top. The bottom of the decks feature original artwork created for us by the renown Florida artist, Ayden Stoefen.

If you want another board that handles like a Carver, YOW or Waterborne, you will be disappointed. The Burst rides like no swivel truck board. It's more like the demon love child of a longboard skateboard and swivel truck surfskate. Some purists may say it shouldn't exist, but we think otherwise.

The Burst is not a board to do a slow tight infinity loop. It is board you can pump and carve hard and fast while still feeling you are in total control. The Burst has its own personality and wants to prove itself. It is definitely not a stereotypical surfskate.

The big inflatable windsurf design: On this super stable platform, every newcomer to Windsurfing will be able to learn all the basics and to improve quickly. The additional centre fin and the board length provide directional stability and help to go upwind. Its huge planing area can push the advanced rider onto a smooth plane easily. The fact that it is slightly softer than composite boards makes it a great gyber as it can give a bit in the turn, almost providing the feeling of a self-adapting rocker line.

Welded Technology: This new heat welded connection creates a very strong mechanical joint that literally fuses two parts into one and thus is superior to the standard chemical gluing. This welding process of amalgamating two different layers into one makes the board safer, lighter and stiffer.

3D Stringer: The innovative solution connects the deck, rail and bottom into one strong and solid U-beam which makes the boards up to 30% stiffer. Furthermore, the 3D Stringer increased the glued overlap surface in the high stress standing area, improving the durability of the boards.

Hard Rails: The specially developed, super clean hard rails are covered by a fibre reinforced layer of PVC cloth and create a smooth and efficient water release. Thus, the boards plane freely, accelerate willingly and reach good speed with little drag – similar as you know it from freeride hardboards.

Triple Layer: They come with Pre-Laminated Triple Layer Composite Drop Stitch, Fiber Reinforced Stringers in deck and bottom and Welded Rails and will surprise you with their stiffness.

Powerbox: Due to the stiff and strong fixation in the board, the fully integrated Powerbox does not twist or waste any lift from the fin – no energy is lost.

Footstraps: The boards come with four easy-to-mount footstraps and offer strap positions for advanced riders and beginners.

Comfort: The soft hull is covered with a large, slip-proof EVA sheet for unmatched comfort and a safe stance. You also don’t have to worry about mistakes anymore because you won’t get hurt when falling on it.

Transport and Storage: Rolled up, the boards fit into a backpack – no more need for a car with roof rack for transport or a big garage for storage. In times when airlines are hesitant to accept windsurf equipment, the boards’ backpack dimensions are a major advantage!

Volume: The volume names (Magic Air: 150 Litres and FunstAir: 200 Litres) are not the actual volumes of the boards but are the volumes of comparable (similar length and width) composite boards. The actual volumes are 200 Litres (Magic Air) and 240 Litres (FunstAir).

The inflatable windsurf design: The dimensions of the Magic AIR resemble those of a modern freeride shape and accordingly it offers similar performance and a short-board feeling. It addresses the intermediate to advanced sailor with mainly planing on his mind. Nevertheless, it has more volume than a composite board of the same size, making it easier and more forgiving.

It planes easily considering that it’s an inflatable. You’ll be surprised how much fun it is to play and plane on this board. The fact that it is slightly softer than composite boards makes it a great gyber as it can give a bit in the turn, almost providing the feeling of a self-adapting rocker line.

Welded Technology: This heat-welded connection was introduced four years ago and proved to be successful. It creates a very strong mechanical joint that literally fuses two parts into one and thus is superior to the standard gluing. This welding process of amalgamating two different layers into one makes the board safer, lighter and stiffer.

3D Stringer: The innovative solution connects the deck, rail and bottom into one strong and solid U-beam which makes the boards up to 30% stiffer. Furthermore, the 3D Stringer increased the bonding overlap surface in the high stress standing area, improving the durability of the boards.

Hard Rails: The specially developed, super clean hard rails are covered by a fibre reinforced layer of PVC cloth and create a smooth and efficient water release. Thus, the board planes freely, accelerates willingly and reaches good speed with little drag – similar to the feeling you know well from our freeride hardboards.

Triple Layer: They come with Pre-Laminated Triple Layer Composite Drop Stitch, Fibre Reinforced Stringers in the deck and bottom and the Welded Rails and will surprise you with their stiffness.

Powerbox: Due to the stiff and strong fixation in the board, the fully integrated Powerbox does not twist or waste any lift from the fin – no energy is lost.

Footstraps: The boards come with four easy-to-mount footstraps and offer strap positions for advanced riders and beginners.

Comfort: The hull’s soft skin is covered with a large, slip-proof EVA sheet for great comfort and a safe stance. You also don’t have to worry about mistakes anymore because you won’t get hurt when falling on it.

Transport and Storage: Rolled up, the boards fit into a backpack – no more need for a car with a roof rack for transport or a big garage for storage. In times when airlines are hesitant to accept windsurf equipment, the boards’ backpack dimensions are a major advantage!

Glue-on marks: Optimized for planing, the board does not come with a forward center fin. For everybody interested in such an additional center fin, these marks in the bottom indicate where to place the box (exclusively available separately as spare part).

Volume: The Magic Air’s 150 liters are not the actual volume of the board but reflects the volumes of comparable (similar length and width) composite boards. Its real volume is ~200 liters.
